Jared Tendler, MS, LMHC
Jared Tendler, MS, LMHC, is an established innovator in the field of golf psychology, with more than 200 clients. His has a unique perspective, as he has not only a Master's degree in psychology, but is a competitive golfer as well. His practical and straightforward approach is successful with golfers of varying abilities, from tournament professionals to beginners.
Jared played collegiate golf for Division III Skidmore College, where he was a three-time All-American, an Academic All-American, a two-year captain and the winner of nine events.
Coming out of college, Jared's drive to become a professional golfer was thwarted by continual failures in pressure situations. But, as they say, when one door closes, another opens. |
Jared saw an opportunity to combine his love of golf with his newfound interest in psychology, and he pursued a graduate degree in counseling psychology from Northeastern University. He entered into full-time practice, and after two years became a licensed mental-health counselor. It was then that he channeled his efforts into golf psychology.
Jared's practice has flourished. His client list includes an LPGA tour winner, PGA and Nationwide Tour players, top-ranked juniors and many satisfied aficionados. Jared has appeared in Golf Magazine, as well as featured in several regional publications in Phoenix and Connecticut.
Jared has recently started working with professional poker players, something he considers an enjoyable extension of his abilities.
Having left competitive golf eight years ago, Jared recently regained his thirst for competition and played in several Pepsi Tour events in the winter of 2007. His career-low round is a 63 at Moon Valley in Phoenix, Ariz.
